Spring 2012 Inquiry Research Project
Advanced Placement Language and Composition
Ms. Lobitz & Mrs. Host
Research Topic: Are dreams worth interpreting?
Guiding Question: Is there an actual aspect of psychology behind dreaming? Subsidiary Questions: 1. If one exists, what is the physical reasoning for dreaming? (Significance of REM sleep) 2. Is there a reason as to why the dreamer has such little control over the dream itself? 3. Should dreams be analyzed at all? 3a. As many pessimists and some realists believe, are dreams simply vague effects of a restless mind contained inside of a resting body? 3b. Opposed to 3a, are dreams a product of either suppressed thoughts or distant goals?
